Sponsorship Hajj from the UK, USA & UAE: A Guide for Overseas Pakistanis

Sponsorship Hajj from Abroad

For the millions of Pakistanis living in the UK, USA, UAE and beyond, performing Hajj — or sponsoring parents and family back home to perform it — is a deeply held goal. The good news: there's a clear, ballot-free route designed for exactly this. It's called the sponsorship (private) scheme, and it lets overseas Pakistanis fund Hajj in foreign currency without waiting on a lottery. Here's how it works.

What is sponsorship Hajj?

The sponsorship scheme is Pakistan's private Hajj route, opened to overseas Pakistanis who pay in foreign currency (USD, GBP, AED and others). Unlike the government scheme, there's no balloting — places are confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis through a MoRA-licensed operator. It allows an overseas Pakistani to perform Hajj themselves, or to sponsor a relative in Pakistan to go.

The two big advantagesFirst, no ballot — your seat is confirmed when you book, not left to a lottery. Second, you can sponsor family: a son in London or Dubai can fund his parents' Hajj from Pakistan, paying in his local currency. For families spread across countries, this is often the simplest way to fulfil a long-held promise.

Who can use it?

  • Overseas Pakistanis (holding a Pakistani passport or NICOP) living in the UK, USA, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Europe, and other countries.
  • Those wanting to perform Hajj themselves while residing abroad.
  • Those wanting to sponsor parents, spouse, or family members based in Pakistan.
A note on Nusuk HajjBecause you hold Pakistani nationality, you generally come under Pakistan's Hajj system even while living abroad — so you typically cannot use the Saudi "Nusuk Hajj" platform meant for non-Pakistani residents of Muslim-minority countries. The sponsorship scheme through a MoRA-licensed operator is the route built for you.

How sponsorship Hajj works — step by step

  1. 1Complete MoRA pre-registrationFor Hajj 2027, overseas Pakistanis must now register at mora.gov.pk, the same as residents.
  2. 2Choose a MoRA-licensed operatorSelect a licensed operator like KTN who handles overseas sponsorship bookings.
  3. 3Select your package and pay in foreign currencyChoose the package and accommodation tier; payment is made in USD, GBP, AED or your local currency.
  4. 4Provide documentsPassport (valid until at least 16 November 2027), CNIC/NICOP, photos, and the pilgrim's details if sponsoring someone in Pakistan.
  5. 5Let your operator handle the restVisa, Nusuk Masar contracting, hotels, transport, and Mashair services are all arranged for you.
  6. 6Perform Hajj with full supportMeet & Assist, scholar guidance, and on-ground care throughout.

What to look for in an operator

  • MoRA licensing — verify them on the official list. Never book with an unlicensed agent.
  • Experience with overseas and sponsorship bookings specifically.
  • Clear foreign-currency pricing with every inclusion in writing.
  • Hotels close to the Haram and a good Maktab category (KTN provides Maktab A as standard).
  • Real, contactable advisors — not a faceless website.
Protect your money across bordersBooking from abroad adds distance, so caution matters more. Only pay a MoRA-licensed operator, never an individual's personal account. Get a written contract listing hotels, distances, Maktab category, meals and transport. Remember: a visit or tourist visa never permits Hajj — only a proper Hajj visa through authorised channels does.
